No Danger of Typecasting

At the risk of being offered a job as a casting agent, something for which I feel I do have a particular gift, I would like to offer my recommendations for the roles of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin in the rumored movie version of  The Man from U.N.C.L.E.    At first glance, it might be hard to picture Johnny Depp as the sauve and slightly egocentric Napoleon Solo, then again, it could be the most brilliant portrayal.  Personally, I think his particular penache would be a welcome addition to the character, and certainly he can handle the descriptive nature of a handsome and clever spy.  Genius comes to mind.

Perhaps a lesser known actor in this country (this country being the USA) I can easily invision the Irish actor Jonas Armstrong, formerly known as Robin Hood courtesy of the BBC.  Lighten the hair and let him take a whack at a truncated Russian accent. and he’s a perfect fit.  For me, the paring is brilliant, and certainly smacks of a jolly good time for all.
